Requirements:
Background and experience:

-Bachelor's Degree required; Foreign Trade or Industrial Engineering concentration preferred.

-7+ years of experience in similar roles.

-Experience in food industry in an import/export environment preferred.

-Knowledge of import/export processes and regulations.

Skills:

-Bilingual English / Spanish.

-Negotiation skills.

-Ability to work under pressure, solve problems and meet deadlines.

-Proactive and works well both independently and under supervision depending on the task.

-Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc).

Other requirements:

-Availability to work regular office hours.

-Access to reliable internet connection.

-Access to a lap top computer or PC.
Responsibilities:
Operations

-Plan and execute the end to end logistics (import or export) from origin to final destination (eg: booking containers, scheduling pick ups and deliveries, issuing shipping documentation, cargo tracking, following up with carriers, etc).

-Responsible for the coordination with global manufacturers to ensure accurate production, adequate inventory levels at local warehouses and on-time delivery of orders.

-Lead the continuous improvement of our supply chain process and service levels.

-Assist in the development and approval of new vendors (eg: quotes, product availability, etc).

-Responsible for keeping up to date vendor profiles: product specifications, pricing, certifications and other required documentation.

-Negotiate rates with carriers in order to look for cost reductions and to ensure best conditions for our company.

-Becoming the internal subject matter expert on all aspects related to FDA and regulations relevant
to the company business.

-Responsible for developing internal processes to comply with existing and new regulations.

-Create, standardize and implement templates, forms and procedures to improve the operation (eg: certificates of analysis, sample request forms, claim forms, etc).

Customer Service

-Responsible for the day-to-day Customer Service activities and support to Business Development (including but not limited to development of new clients, application submissions, quotes, etc).

-Responsible for keeping the delivery plan/chart up to date based on existing contracts.

-Responsible for keeping customers updated on the status of their requirements and for providing them with compliance documentation and samples (eg: flow charts, certifications, pre-approval samples, etc) in coordination with manufacturers, certification agencies and other vendors.

-Responsible for administrative duties such as (but not limited to) order entry and report generation.

-Responsible for the timely submission, investigation and resolution of claims (with manufacturers and carriers).
